Ricardo Pinheiro, President of the Coordination and Development Regional Commission of Alentejo, highlighted the Alentejo region's leadership in European industrial competitiveness during the ceremony for the delivery of the Alba Project Exploration Title. In his speech, he underscored the strategic role of the region in Europe's industrial and energy sovereignty. Ricardo Pinheiro advocated for more agile institutional action by the responsible entities, in order to attract strategic investment for the region. The ultimate goal of this approach would be to transform concrete projects into economic development and job creation in Alentejo.

The Brazilian government expressed indignation after the European Union suspended imports of beef and poultry from Brazil, threatening to adopt "reciprocity measures" provided for in national legislation and in the trade agreements between Mercosur and the European bloc.
