Two sea turtles were returned to their natural habitat on Thursday, September 3, through a joint mission between the Portuguese Navy and Zoomarine. The operation involved the participation of NRP Sagitário and aimed to ensure the return to the sea of the two animals after a prolonged period of treatment and recovery.
The Portuguese Navy highlighted that the joint effort of the two entities was fundamental to ensure that the turtles were returned to their natural habitat safely, after the entire treatment and recovery process they underwent.
The initiative contributes to the preservation of this species and reinforces the importance of cooperation between institutions in the protection and conservation of marine life. The action is part of the efforts for the conservation of marine biodiversity and the collaboration between entities involved in this area.
