The confidential testimony of Daniel Vorcaro to Minister André Mendonça's office, held last week, was considered a "shot in the foot" by one of his own lawyers. The hearing, conducted by auxiliary judge João Azambuja, caused damage to Vorcaro's defense, in addition to generating friction with the Federal Police.
The hearing was attended by a representative of the Federal Public Ministry. The testimony was conducted by an auxiliary judge of Mendonça, João Azambuja, and was under a confidentiality regime.
Daniel Vorcaro is under investigation, and the testimony to Mendonça's office did not bring the expected results for his defense. One of Vorcaro's lawyers criticized the decision to give the testimony, assessing that it was harmful to the client.
