Italian authorities are investigating the presence of military personnel in the new far-right party, following a complaint filed by the Armed Forces union on Wednesday.
The complaint accuses former general Roberto Vannacci of refounding the Fascist Party, a practice that is considered a crime under Italian legislation.
Vannacci, who had already gained notoriety for controversial statements, is now the main target of this investigation which aims to determine the alleged involvement of military personnel in the far-right political organization.
