Authorities in a North American neighborhood are on high alert after an unidentified animal attacked three people in just two days. Local police have yet to determine the species of animal responsible for the attacks, which has increased residents' concern in the area.
The attack victims received medical evaluation and care. So far, no details have been released about the severity of injuries sustained by the three people attacked by the mysterious animal.
Local authorities expressed concern that the animal may be infected with rabies, a potentially fatal viral disease. For this reason, guidelines were issued to the public on how to proceed if they encounter the animal or are threatened by it.
Among the recommendations released, authorities advised residents to avoid approaching unknown animals, not to attempt to capture or confront the animal, and to immediately contact the relevant authorities if they spot the animal or are attacked.
