A 5-year-old child was transported in critical condition on Thursday, September 3rd, to the Maternal and Children's University Hospital of Gran Canaria aboard a medicalized helicopter of the Canarian Emergency Service (SUC), after suffering a severe drowning in the swimming pool of a hotel located in the municipality of Yaiza, in Lanzarote. The boy was rescued and stabilized by emergency teams before being transferred to the neighboring island, where he received specialized care. The authorities did not report the exact circumstances that led to the child's drowning. The Canarian Emergency Service was responsible for carrying out the aeromedical transport of the child to the reference pediatric hospital in the region.
