History teacher Giulia Silva de Araújo, 26 years old, died after being treated twice on the same day at a municipal hospital in Rio de Janeiro. On both occasions, the young woman was diagnosed with "anxiety attack" and released from the health facility.
Hours later, Giulia was admitted to a health unit in Duque de Caxias, already in cardiac arrest, and did not survive. The death certificate indicated "cardiac tamponade" as the cause of death, according to information from g1.
Cardiac tamponade is the pressure exerted on the heart by blood or fluid that accumulates in the two-layered membrane surrounding the heart, called the pericardium. According to the MSD Manual, this disorder interferes with the heart's ability to pump blood adequately to the body.
