A 32-year-old psychology intern named Michelle Luchau-Rebora was arrested in Florida after having a romantic and sexual relationship with a patient at a rehabilitation clinic for substance abusers and mental health patients. She worked as an intern at the New Hope C.O.R.P.S. center, located in Homestead, where she began the relationship with a 42-year-old patient in June of the previous year, lasting until September.
The investigation revealed that Michelle and the patient had sexual relations during therapy sessions at the clinic. Additionally, she managed to release the patient from the restricted-access clinic with false exit authorizations, allowing the two to go out on dates outside the facility. The couple even had sexual relations at her mother's house and at a local hospital.
The 42-year-old man reported Michelle to authorities after the end of the alleged three-month relationship. The intern then surrendered to authorities and appeared in a Florida court on Wednesday, October 2, to answer the charges related to her inappropriate conduct with the patient.
