Nurses now answer calls forwarded from the SNS 24 line to INEM. This change represents an alteration in the way calls arriving at the National Medical Emergency Institute are managed.
Until now, the function of answering these calls was ensured by pre-hospital emergency technicians. With this transition, nurses become responsible for this service.
The SNS 24 line continues to be the initial point of contact for citizens who need guidance in medical emergency situations. Calls that require INEM intervention are subsequently forwarded to the institute.
