An injured bird was rescued last Tuesday, September 1st, by a member of the Public Security Police (PSP). The rescue took place near a hospital in the city of Coimbra.
After the rescue, the bird was examined and it was discovered that it was a young Common Cuckoo. The species was identified by the authorities who took in the injured animal.
The young Common Cuckoo was subsequently placed under specialized care for recovery. The authorities did not specify the extent of the bird's injuries nor the final destination of the animal after initial treatment.
