The Municipal Water and Sanitation Services (SMAS) of Leiria invested approximately 1.6 million euros in reinforcing water supply to the bathing areas of Pedrógão Beach and Ervedeira. This intervention aims to improve the distribution capacity of drinking water in these two coastal towns of the municipality of Leiria. The SMAS are the organization responsible for managing the urban water cycle in the region, including supply and sanitation. This investment is part of a strategy to enhance the municipality's water infrastructure, which is particularly important during the bathing season when water demand increases significantly in coastal areas.
