An armed confrontation between agents from two Ukrainian intelligence services took place this Wednesday in a residential area of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The incident involved members of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and elements linked to Ukrainian military intelligence (GUR).
The episode was described as "absolutely shameful" by unidentified sources cited in the report. The confrontation occurred during an operation involving agents from both intelligence services.
This type of confrontation between the two main Ukrainian intelligence services is rare, but it is not the first time that tensions have emerged between the SBU and the GUR. Both agencies have played crucial roles since the beginning of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
Ukrainian authorities have yet to officially comment on the incident, which occurred in central Kiev and involved an exchange of gunfire between agents from the two rival intelligence services.
