São Paulo Civil Police arrested 13 people in an operation against a clandestine factory that counterfeited products from the WePink brand, owned by digital influencer Virginia Fonseca. The operation was carried out in the metropolitan region of São Paulo.
The investigation began after reports of the sale of counterfeit goods on social media and at the traditional Feira da Madrugada in São Paulo. The counterfeit products were sold as if they were originals from Virginia Fonseca's brand.
The operation involved agents who carried out arrest and search and seizure warrants at the location where the clandestine factory operated. The 13 arrested individuals were taken to the police station, where they await appropriate legal action.
WePink is one of the most successful beauty and cosmetics brands in the Brazilian market, with a strong presence on social media and a significant customer base. The counterfeiting of its products represents not only a crime against intellectual property, but also a risk to the health of consumers who purchase goods of unknown origin.
