With three decades of activity in Portugal, the architecture firm Contacto Atlântico chose São Paulo to open its first headquarters outside the country, marking the beginning of a new phase of international expansion. The debut takes place in Pinheiros, a neighborhood considered one of the most coveted in the capital and which has been undergoing strong vertical development in recent years.
The first project of the Brazilian operation is located near Largo da Batata and stands out by bringing together eight high-end houses in a low-rise composition, designed as an alternative to the residential tower model predominant in the region.
The expansion comes at a time of international prominence for the firm. In July 2026, the team won the DNA Paris Design Awards, in the Architecture/Rehabilitation category, for the Zara Rossio project in Lisbon. The distinction recognizes one of Contacto Atlântico's main specialties: adapting historic buildings to new uses without erasing their identity.
Founded in 1996 by architect André Caiado, the Portuguese firm has in its portfolio residential and commercial work that demonstrates this expertise in urban requalification.
