The man suspected of killing his wife on Tuesday, in the corridor of a hotel in Albufeira, was placed in preventive detention after his first judicial hearing at the Portimão Court. The defendant, a 34-year-old British national, charged with the crime of homicide, was sent to Silves Prison, where he will await trial.
The victim was also British, 34 years old, and was found dead at the same hotel in Albufeira. According to the GNR, the woman was allegedly stabbed by her partner in the presence of a minor child.
The Faro Territorial Command of the GNR, which is investigating the case, declined to provide further details, namely regarding the fate of the minor who was present at the time of the crime.
