Adega do Cartaxo launched the Absolvido brand, a new line of dealcoholized wines that includes a sparkling wine and a white wine, both with 0% alcohol. The cooperative claims to be the first Portuguese cooperative winery to move forward with this type of product, seeking to respond to the growing demand for alcohol-free alternatives.
The new products are made from the Fernão Pires and Moscatel Graúdo grape varieties, varieties traditionally associated with the Vinhos do Tejo region. The grapes used come from the Cartaxo sub-region, more specifically from the Bairro terroir.
The brand comes at a time when wine consumption habits are changing, with significant growth in demand for products with low alcohol content or dealcoholized. Adega do Cartaxo's proposal is to maintain the ritual associated with wine, but without the presence of alcohol, allowing different consumption options.
According to the cooperative, moving forward with this project represented a major challenge, as this is still a recent segment in the market. The Adega wanted to ensure that it would offer a quality product that would not disappoint consumer expectations.
