Teachers who postpone retirement may earn 750 euros "extra"

A new decree allows teachers who postpone retirement to continue teaching to receive an extra remuneration of 750 euros monthly. This measure aims to encourage qualified teachers to remain active for longer.

The benefit is conditioned on the unavailability of other professionals to perform the work. In other words, the payment is only granted when there are no replacements available to fill the position.

The measure comes in a context of difficulties in hiring teachers, seeking to solve problems of unfilled vacancies in schools across the country.
