COP17 was held in Mongolia, in the capital Ulaanbaatar, bringing together the member states of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification. The meeting aimed to find solutions and funds to reverse the process of land degradation, a problem that already affects 40% of the planet's soil.
The conference ended with a pledge of $1.3 billion through the Green Investment Pledge, destined for green projects related to the recovery and protection of soils worldwide.
This amount represents a significant financial commitment from the member countries to address the advance of desertification and land degradation on a global scale.
