The former banker Daniel Vorcaro, from Banco Master, stated in testimony to the Supreme Federal Court (STF) last week that he received threats while negotiating a plea agreement with the Federal Police. Vorcaro told the office of Justice André Mendonça, the rapporteur of the case, that the threats were aimed at preventing him from cooperating with authorities.
According to the former banker, during the plea deal negotiation period, various intermediaries and lawyers sent him messages saying he should not continue down this path. The messages mentioned that he should stay quiet because of his family and warned that the situation would get worse if he continued.
Vorcaro is currently imprisoned at Papudinha, in Brasília. He confirmed that his situation indeed worsened while negotiating the plea deal with the Federal Police. After this period, his father was also arrested.
The plea agreement that Vorcaro was negotiating was ultimately not approved by the corporation, according to the testimony. The case is under the rapporteurship of Justice André Mendonça at the STF.
