The Local Health Unit of Alto Minho (ULSAM) received nine vacancies for specialist doctors to progress to the category of senior graduate assistant, the highest level of the medical career. The allocation was approved by the Government and covers eight specialties: Anesthesiology, Gynecology/Obstetrics, General and Family Medicine, Orthopedics, Pediatrics, Radiology, Public Health and Internal Medicine. Internal Medicine has two vacancies, while the remaining seven specialties have one vacancy each.
This category of senior graduate assistant is intended for professionals with extensive experience and differentiation, also allowing them to assume management, coordination and leadership functions of the services. The Local Health Unit of Alto Minho states that the measure represents a strengthening of the leadership and organization capacity of the services.
According to the President of the Board of Directors of the Local Health Unit of Alto Minho, José Manuel Cardoso, the allocation of these vacancies reinforces the qualification of the institution and meets the expectations of doctors who wish to advance in their careers.
