Hospital São Teotónio, located in Viseu, will benefit from an energy efficiency upgrade programme. The Local Health Unit of Viseu Dão Lafões was the entity responsible for implementing this project at the hospital.
The funding allocated for this intervention amounts to five million euros, coming from the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP). This amount enabled the improvement works on the hospital's energy efficiency to move forward.
The RRP is a European funding programme designed to support the economic recovery and green transition of European Union member countries. In Portugal, this plan has supported numerous projects for the modernisation of public infrastructure.
With this intervention, a reduction in the hospital's energy costs is expected, as well as a contribution to a more sustainable environmental footprint. The improvement of the unit's energy conditions should also provide better comfort conditions for patients and healthcare professionals.
