During summer, high temperatures represent an additional risk factor for drivers. According to data from the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), excess heat inside the vehicle can increase the risk of having an accident by up to 20%.
This increased risk is due to the fact that excessive heat promotes the appearance of fatigue in drivers, decreases reflexes, and increases reaction time while driving.
