O Atual - Informação de Verdade3 September 2026 at 14:00

Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) will invest in Alentejo a total of 700 million euros by the end of 2028. This investment will be applied to infrastructure works in both roads and railways in the region.

The announcement was made by the Secretary of State for Infrastructure, who highlighted the importance of this amount for the development of the Alentejo region.

This investment is part of a broader government plan to modernize transport infrastructure in Portugal, with particular focus on connections between the interior and the coast of the country.

Alentejo, as a region that crosses the corridor between Lisbon and the south of the country, thus benefits from a significant investment aimed at improving the region's connectivity and competitiveness.
