A first alert dispatch was issued in the Leiria region, which also covers the municipalities of Óbidos and Olho Marinho. The alert refers to a situation involving forest vegetation, indicating a potential risk to vegetation and forest areas in the zone.
To address the situation, 25 operatives were mobilized, supported by five ground vehicles and one aerial asset. These resources have been deployed to intervene in the area affected by the alert.
The first alert status means that authorities are on preventive alert, with resources prepared to intervene quickly should the situation worsen or if reinforcement of operations becomes necessary.
This type of dispatch is common during periods of higher risk of forest fires, when meteorological conditions or the detection of smoke or flames require an immediate response from civil protection authorities.
