Bison Bank joins Nova FCT research on digital currency-based infrastructures

SAPO Notícias3 September 2026 at 13:02

Bison Bank has joined a Nova FCT research initiative related to digital currency-based infrastructures. This partnership represents a joint effort to explore new technologies in the financial sector.

Nova FCT's research examines in a progressive, controlled, and measurable way the potential of a digital or tokenized currency-based infrastructure. The goal is to understand how these technologies can be implemented safely and efficiently.

According to Nova FCT's explanation, the infrastructure under study will be referenced to fiat currency, meaning it will be based on traditional currencies such as the euro or the dollar. This approach allows combining the benefits of digital technologies with the stability associated with conventional currencies.
