The Central Bank determined, on Thursday (3), the extrajudicial liquidation of Trustee Distribuidora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários and Banvox Distribuidora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários (DTVM), both brokerage firms based in São Paulo. Trustee has a history of connection with Maurício Quadrado, former partner of Banco Master, which adds relevance to the case.
According to the Central Bank, the liquidated brokerage firms have low representativeness in the National Financial System. In July, the institutions represented, together, less than 0.001% of the total adjusted assets of the system and only 0.76% of the third-party asset management volume.
The decree of extrajudicial liquidation was motivated by the existence of serious violations of the legal norms governing the activities of financial institutions. The Central Bank stated that it will continue taking all applicable measures to determine responsibilities within its legal authority.
The results of the investigations may lead to the application of administrative sanctions against those responsible for the identified irregularities.
