The city of Orlando was named the best in the United States to retire, according to a WalletHub survey. The research evaluated more than 180 American cities based on 45 indicators related to living conditions for the retired population.
Three cities from Florida appear in the top positions of the ranking: Orlando in first place, Miami in second, and Tampa in third. The result highlights the state's strength as a destination for retirees in the United States.
Orlando's highlight is mainly due to the combination of entertainment, services, leisure options, and urban structure. In addition to the theme parks, the city offers restaurants, shopping centers, recreational areas, and cultural activities aimed at residents of different age groups.
The survey should be considered as an indicator, not as a guarantee that Orlando will be the best choice for everyone. Housing costs, insurance, healthcare, taxes, and personal financial situation also need to be evaluated before any decision to move.
