App-based drivers were arrested in Teresina suspected of being part of a drug trafficking operation linked to a criminal gang that operates in Piauí. The operation was revealed by a delegate responsible for the case.

According to the investigations, the narcotics were brought from the interior of the state and distributed at sales points in the capital Teresina. The drivers were recruited by the gang to transport the drugs without drawing police attention.

The suspects were arrested during the police operation that aimed to dismantle the drug distribution scheme in the city. The delegate explained that the gang's strategy was to use app-based transportation professionals to move the narcotics discreetly.
