The Santa Cruz City Council approved today three projects aimed at reducing losses in the drinking water distribution network in the municipality. The total investment is around three million euros, representing a significant amount for local infrastructure.
The project will be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), which means that a substantial part of the financing comes from European funds. This partnership allows the municipality to proceed with works that might otherwise be postponed.
The interventions aim to modernize the water distribution network, reducing waste and improving the efficiency of the supply system. The approval of the three projects by the city council marks the formal beginning of the implementation process for these measures.
With this investment, Santa Cruz intends to solve a recurring problem in many Portuguese municipalities, where water losses in distribution networks represent high costs and waste of resources.
