Families of the Elevador da Glória victims were present at the memorial unveiling ceremony in Lisbon, laden with emotion, in a moment of tribute to the victims of the tragedy that occurred a year ago. The memorial was created to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the accident.

The historic funicular derailed on September 3, 2025, at 6:03 PM, in a tragedy that resulted in 16 deaths and 24 injured. The majority of the victims were foreign tourists, which made the accident one of great international impact.

Lisbon organized the tribute ceremony one year after the accident, marking the moment with the presence of families and authorities' representatives. The memorial serves as a symbol of recognition and mourning for the Lisbon community and the visitors affected by this accident.
