Isabel Almodóvar, president of the Official College of Nurses of Castellón (COECS), criticized this Thursday the non-inclusion of School Nursing in the anti-harassment protocol of the Spanish Ministry of Education. Almodóvar considered this decision a "totally very serious diagnostic error".
The president of COECS argued that school nurses could play a fundamental role in the early detection of bullying cases among students, acting as a link of trust between students and the educational system.
According to Almodóvar, "many times students do not tell their teachers or families what they are experiencing", which highlights the need for health professionals in schools who can identify situations of harassment that often remain hidden.
