The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) issued a norm establishing the start of the seasonal vaccination campaign against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) for children on September 16. The norm provides that all babies are eligible for this seasonal pediatric vaccination. RSV is a common respiratory virus that can cause serious infections in young children, particularly during the autumn and winter months. This campaign represents a public health effort to protect the child population during the season when the virus circulates most intensely. The DGS is the entity responsible for defining the norms and guidelines for the implementation of this vaccination campaign in Portugal.
