The Public Security Police detained a 44-year-old man for driving with a blood alcohol level six times above the legal limit. The driver was intercepted by authorities after refueling the vehicle and attempting to flee the scene.
The breathalyzer test performed revealed an alcohol level of 3.12 grams of alcohol per liter of blood, a value significantly higher than the legal limit allowed in Portugal, which is 0.5 g/l for the majority of drivers.
The individual was detained by the PSP following this intervention, being subject to the legal measures provided for this type of crime, which includes driving under the influence of alcohol at high levels.
