More than 70 migrants died at sea heading to the Canary Islands

More than 70 migrants lost their lives during a sea crossing heading to the Canary Islands. The vessel was rescued in the early hours of Thursday, after drifting at sea for 26 days. The boat had departed with more than a dozen passengers on board, but arrived with only 44 survivors.
