The Lisbon Stock Exchange was halfway through Thursday's session, September 3rd, with a gain of 0.06% to 9,411.20 points. The biggest gains were for Banco Comercial Português (BCP), which advanced 1.29% to 1.13 euros, followed by Teixeira Duarte with a rise of 1.14% to 0.48 euros and NOS with 0.89% to five euros. Galp Energia and CTT were also in the green.
On the negative side, EDP fell 1.14% to 4.61 euros, Jerónimo Martins broke 1.05% to 17.97 euros and Altri depreciated 0.95% to 4.70 euros. Sonae, Corticeira Amorim, Navigator, EDP Renováveis, Mota-Engil and REN were also trading in negative territory.
The major European stock exchanges continued to trade on mixed ground. The German DAX fell 0.17%, the French CAC 40 broke 0.34%, while the British FTSE 100 rose 0.09%. The Spanish IBEX 35 advanced 0.30% and the Italian FTSE MIB rose 0.08%, but the Dutch AEX fell 0.38%. Millennium's research highlighted Soitec's surge after the photonics company raised its projections, and the fall in the luxury goods sector, with LVMH and Kering being affected by the appreciation of the Japanese yen.
Oil was trading higher, with Brent rising 1.58% to $97.14 and crude gaining 1.77% to $92.62. The euro rose 0.11% against the dollar to $1.16025 and gained 0.07% against the pound to 0.85992 pounds.
