It is estimated that there are between 18 and 20 million rats living in London, England. This number was calculated by pest control companies and public health specialists based on calls and active infestations, representing approximately two rats for each human inhabitant of the British capital, which has about 9 million residents.
Two of these rodents starred in an unusual scene on a platform at Oxford Circus underground station. The animals were filmed exchanging blows while standing on their hind legs, in a dispute that resembled an MMA event, without showing any fear of human presence.
The recording was made by Sonia Mansfield, who posted the video on Instagram. The scene went viral on social media, entertaining and at the same time puzzling the passengers who watched the confrontation.
Sonia Mansfield said the moment "warmed her hearts", describing the scene as the rats playing or fighting among themselves.
