Praia Grande, in the parish of Colares, in the municipality of Sintra, hosts the fourth edition of the Sardine Festival between September 11 and 18. The event runs for eight days in one of the main beach areas of the municipality.
The festival is organized by CPS – Association of Beaches of the Municipality of Sintra, with support from the Sintra Municipal Council and the Colares Parish Council, as well as several local businesses and entities.
The initiative is dedicated to the gastronomy and fishing tradition of the region, aiming to promote the sardine as a traditional product and enhance the connection of Sintra's coastal communities to the sea and fishing activity.
The festival brings together gastronomy, socializing and entertainment, celebrating one of the most emblematic cultural and culinary characteristics of the coastal communities of the municipality.
