End of the 6x1 schedule: when will the proposal be voted on in the Senate plenary?

The Constitution, Justice and Citizenship Committee (CCJ) of the Senate approved this Wednesday (the 2nd) the Proposed Constitutional Amendment (PEC) that proposes ending the 6x1 work schedule. The text establishes a five-day workweek and two days of rest. The date for voting on the measure in the plenary of the House, however, has not yet been set.

Government leaders are negotiating with the president of the Senate, Davi Alcolumbre (União Brasil-AP), for the proposal to be voted on in the plenary right after the first round of elections, which takes place on October 4. Interlocutors report that Alcolumbre is expected to announce this Thursday (the 3rd) a recess in Senate activities until the election, given that the senators themselves will intensify their campaigns.

In the CCJ, the rapporteur of the proposal, Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), rejected all 36 amendments presented to modify the text, with the aim of accelerating the completion of the PEC's vote in the Senate. The measure needed a quorum of 75 senators to be approved in the committee.
