The federal government will hold an event on Thursday at the Palace of the Presidency to announce that it "zeroed" the INSS queue. However, thousands of people are still waiting for their requests to be analyzed, as the Executive considers that these citizens are within the legal deadline of 45 days for analysis.
According to a note from the Ministry of Social Security, the queue of requests dropped to 1.282 million in August, representing a 59% reduction compared to January, when 3.073 million requests were waiting for service. The announcement was made during a meeting of the National Social Security Council (CNPS).
The director of Benefits at INSS, Leonardo Bittencourt, reported that the processes waiting for more than 45 days totaled 261 thousand in August, representing an 86% drop compared to January. According to the ministry, this is the lowest level since 2023.
