Sporting was the "big" Portuguese club that moved most significantly in the transfer market, confirming what had been observed in the previous weeks and months. The words of the lion president had been brought back when Nico left FC Porto for Manchester City.
In the last hours of September 1st, Tuesday, the day the market closed, two important departures to Italy stood out: Daniel Bragança headed to Torino and Pedro Gonçalves, known as Pote, reinforced Fiorentina.
Pote's departure to Fiorentina was considered surprising. Although his departure from Sporting was not a surprise, the Italian destination was not what was initially expected.
Curiously, next Saturday, Fiorentina and Torino face each other in Serie A, which means the two former Sporting players will be on opposite sides in the same competition.
