MotelX, Lisbon's horror film festival, celebrates its 20th edition this year. The event takes place in the Portuguese capital and presents an expanded program compared to previous years.

LUX Prize 2026 arrives in Tavira with accessible screening of the film "Surda"

The film "Surda", directed by Spaniard Eva Liberdad and winner of the LUX 2026 Audience Award, will be screened this Thursday at the Teatro Municipal António Pinheiro in Tavira during the XII Mediterranean Diet Fair. The screening features adapted subtitles for people with hearing difficulties and Portuguese sign language interpretation, followed by a debate on difference, inclusion, and accessibility. The film, based on an experience shared by the director's sister, Miriam Garlo, who stars in it, premiered at the 2025 Berlinale and earned Eva Liberdad the Goya Award for Best New Director. Entry is free upon ticket collection at the venue.

FIADA runs until Sunday at Jardim das Artes in Covilhã
