Digital technology will monitor the conservation status of the Salgueiro Maia Bridge

Jornal O Almeirinense3 September 2026 at 10:40

The Salgueiro Maia Bridge, which connects Almeirim to Santarém, will now have a digital representation to monitor the behavior of the infrastructure over time and assess its conservation status. The project will be developed by Infraestruturas de Portugal in partnership with the company CAEmate, with monitoring by the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering.

The technology used will be Digital Twin, also called a digital twin, which consists of creating a virtual replica of the bridge fed with data collected directly from the infrastructure. Through this solution, it will be possible to gather, cross-reference, and analyze detailed information about the state of the structure.

According to Infraestruturas de Portugal, this technology represents an advanced management support tool that will allow for deeper knowledge about the conservation of the Salgueiro Maia Bridge. The public company states that the implementation of the project aims to monitor the behavior of the bridge over time.

GTA 6 will not always allow freely switching between Jason and Lucia during missions

Rockstar Games revealed that in Grand Theft Auto VI players will not be able to freely switch between protagonists Jason and Lucia during all missions, as the game's narrative will require certain missions to be played with only one character at a time. This decision is part of a more story-focused approach, approaching the narrative style seen in Red Dead Redemption 2, where the mission structure was more linear in relation to the characters. The game is scheduled for release in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

She decided to try the strategy after realizing she was connected to electronic devices between 12 and 13 hours a day. The proposal is not to eliminate technology from the routine, but rather to turn to other activities that also provide pleasure and stimulation in moments when the urge arises to check notifications or continue scrolling through screens without a defined purpose.
