Benfica announced the signing of Máximo Echeverri on loan from Manchester City. The young Argentine attacking midfielder, 20 years old, arrives at the Portuguese club to strengthen the red attack during the current season.
During last season, Echeverri was loaned by Manchester City to two European clubs. He first represented German side Bayer Leverkusen and subsequently transferred to Spanish side Girona, where he finished the season.
Defender Tomás Araújo, on the other hand, saw his contract with Benfica extended until 2031. The young Portuguese player, who already has regular presence in the first team, signed a contract extension linking him to the Lisbon club for another seven years.
