Euro zone debt interest eases on the seventh day

Euro Zone government debt yields are easing this Thursday, marking the first pause in the sell-off that has punished bond markets worldwide in recent days. Portugal's ten-year bond yield fell about four basis points to 3.698%, after hitting nine-year highs, following the same decompression trend in Spain and Germany. The recent selling pressure was driven by investor concerns about the impact of rising oil prices on inflation, which brought Brent crude close to 100 dollars. Markets anticipate that the ECB will raise rates at its next meeting and promote a further 25 basis point increase in December, raising the deposit rate to 2.75%, the highest level since March 2025.
