The Faro Alternativo festival returns to the Riverside Promenade for its 16th edition between October 2nd and 4th, promoting three nights of concerts dedicated to punk, hardcore, metal and other facets of alternative music. The event is promoted by A3 - Associação Algarve Alternativo and brings together 17 Portuguese and international bands, featuring projects from the United Kingdom, Spain and Brazil.
On the first day, Friday October 2nd, the British Desolated, the Spanish Brothers Till We Die, the Portuguese Grankapo, Fear The Lord and Against Them All, and the Brazilian Asfixia Social take to the stage. On Saturday, October 3rd, the festival welcomes the Spanish Avulsed and Teething, along with the Portuguese Besta, Morte Incandescente, Capela Mortuária and Baltum.
The final day, Sunday October 4th, features performances by Mata-Ratos, Ancient Settlers from Spain, Redemptus, Razor Kids and Undercover Society. The lineup seeks to maintain the festival's identity as a meeting space between generations, styles and communities of independent music, also paying attention to the bands that keep the underground scene alive. In addition to the concerts, the venue will feature a vendor market and a food area.
Doors open daily at 8:30 PM and concerts begin at 9:00 PM. The festival is classified for ages six and over. Daily tickets cost 25 euros for the general public and 20 euros for A3 members, while the three-day pass costs 55 euros, or 45 euros for members.
