The Guardia Civil and Tax Agency officers detained a man at Valencia airport who arrived on a flight from Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). The arrest took place within the framework of a joint operation between the two entities.
The man was transporting more than eight kilos of liquid cocaine hidden inside shampoo bottles in his luggage. The drug was dissolved in liquids, a technique frequently used to try to avoid detection during security checks.
The suspect was sent to prison after the arrest. The authorities did not provide further details about the case or about the possible destination of the drug that the man was transporting.
