A new analysis of the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) experiment recorded a single particle interaction that researchers have great difficulty explaining with known background signals from normal matter. The result does not yet reach the statistical threshold necessary to claim a dark matter discovery, but it constitutes one of the most convincing indications reported to date.
