Nepal raises death toll from flood on China border to over 1,250, with more than 4,200 missing

Nepal authorities raised on Thursday to over 1,250 the number of dead caused by the devastating floods that hit the northern region of the country, on the border with China, last week. The death toll continues to rise as rescue and search operations continue.

Furthermore, authorities reported that more than 4,200 people remain missing, more than a week after the catastrophe. This number represents a significant concern for rescue teams trying to locate survivors in the affected areas.

The tragedy occurred in the northern region of Nepal, which borders China, and has been one of the worst natural disasters to affect the country in recent years. The floods caused massive destruction and displaced thousands of people from their homes.
