The German Felicia von Reden, CEO of Ovom Care, gave her first interview after the bankruptcy of the fertility clinic. She acknowledges that she is seen as "a horrible monster" by the public, but tried to explain the collapse of the company that a year before seemed to be in strong growth.
Ovom Care had announced in 2025 that it had managed to secure 4.8 million euros in venture capital and a valuation of 22 million euros. A year later, however, the company closed its doors, leaving patients in the middle of assisted reproduction treatments.
The affected patients had paid in full for treatments that cost thousands of euros each, and many were left without access to the services they had already paid for, with no possibility of reimbursement.
The interview seeks to clarify the circumstances that led to the abrupt closure of the clinic, at a time when von Reden faces strong public disapproval and questions about the fate of patients' money.
