The number of detentions represents a weekly average that highlights the frequency of this offense on Portuguese roads. The data refers only to the period from January to July, covering seven months of continuous inspection by the GNR.
Portuguese law considers driving with a blood alcohol level equal to or above 1.2 g/l a crime, which differentiates this situation from lighter administrative offenses. The GNR continues to carry out inspection operations to combat this behavior on the roads of Portugal.
